Character in Harry Potter expected to die by end of seven-book series

The Disneyland Report

J.K. Rowling, the author of the wildly successful Harry Potter series, confirmed on her website that one of the characters in the books would die by the end of the seventh book.

A fan had queried the British writer whether another Harry Potter character would be killed off, Rowling writes, "Yes, sorry." She did not say, however, which character would die.

Rowling's next book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," will be the sixth book in the series, but the fourth Harry Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," is expected to be released in November of 2005 and is directed by Mike Newell.

There had once been a rumor that Disney might pick up the rights to the Harry Potter series and create at its theme parks attractions based on the magical world from the books.

There are currently no confirmations, however, to these rumors.
