Officials for the organization were to announce a partnership Monday with America Online that could allow it to reach AOL's 30 million subscribers worldwide, the Detroit Free Press reported in a Monday story. The announcement comes a week after Walt Disney Imagineering of Glendale, Calif., agreed to give the Henry Ford unlimited access to artifacts from its theme parks to design a first-ever museum exhibit that examines Disneyland's legacy in American pop culture. The exhibit is expected to feature architectural renderings by Walt Disney for the original theme park in Anaheim, Calif., and the first animated human figure in a Disney production, an Abraham Lincoln replica that appeared at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. The exhibit will open at the Henry Ford next fall and is expected to tour at museums nationwide. Together, the deals significantly raise the national and international profile of the Henry Ford, said Chief Operating Officer Patricia Mooradian. The AOL deal doesn't include any fees or money but allows Henry Ford to provide historical content on American inventors - one of the Ford's specialties - for AOL members. Users must enter the keyword "history" to gain access to the information. To read the rest of this story, click here.Return to Disney News. |
