Walt Disney World theme parks closed on Sunday in response to arrival of Hurricane Jeanne

The Disneyland Report

As Hurricane Jeanne crashed onto the east coast of Florida Saturday night, the Walt Disney World Resort announced the closure of its theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom) and its water parks (Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon) on Sunday, September 26 due to the storm.

In addition, Orlando theme parks Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, as well as Sea World announced that they would also be closed on Sunday. In addition, Busch Gardens in Tampa will be closed on Sunday due to Hurricane Jeanne.

The most intense effects of Hurricane Jeanne are likely to be felt by the Walt Disney World Resort and surrounding Orlando theme parks; it is possible for Hurricane Jeanne to create much damage at the theme parks due to high winds.

The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom were last closed three weeks ago on September 4 and 5 in response to Hurricane Frances.

The Walt Disney World Resort has modified its cancellation policy to accommodate changes in travel plans due to Hurricane Jeanne. For more information, visit the link below:
