Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Walt Disney World named best indoor roller coaster by Amusement Today

Amusement Today recently announced its Golden Ticket Awards for 2004, honoring the best rides and parks in the industry as decided via a survey completed by park enthusiasts.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney-MGM Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort was honored as the best indoor roller coaster. Walt Disney World water parks Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon were voted third and fourth best water parks, respectively.

The Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World was voted second cleanest park, and Disneyland park was voted fifth cleanest park.

No Disney theme park was voted into the top five in the categories of "Best Park." In addition, no Disney park was voted into the top five in the category of "Friendliest Park Staff," even though Disney often strives to have the best employees with its "cast members" trying to go the extra mile to improve guest satisfaction.

Walt Disney World's Epcot placed fifth in both the "Best Food" and "Most Beautiful Park" categories; the Magic Kingdom placed fourth in the "Best Landscaping" category, while Epcot placed fifth in that same category.

The Magic Kingdom's Splash Mountain placed fourth in the "Best Water Ride" group.

No Disney park was in the top five for the "Best Kids Area" category, which flies against a popular misconception that Disney parks are just for kids.

Disney-MGM Studios' headliner attraction the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror was the third "Best Dark Ride" in the Golden Ticket Awards, and the Indiana Jones Adventure, Temple of the Forbidden Eye tied for forth in that category with an attraction from another park.

Finally, Epcot's Illuminations: Reflections of Earth was named second best outdoor night show, while Fantasmic! at Walt Disney World placed third and Fantasmic! at Disneyland was voted fourth in that category.
