Hurricane Jeanne update

Hurricane Jeanne could hit Florida and Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World could feel the effects of Hurricane Jeanne, as the projected path of the storm heads toward the Disney resorts.

Hurricane Jeanne, currently labeled as a weaker Tropical Storm Jeanne, is currently hitting the Dominican Republic, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). National. Hurricane watches are being issued in the Bahamas by the NOAA because the tropical storm may develop into a stronger hurricane as it passes through the islands.

"Jeanne has weakened while over Hispaniola but could strengthen again over water during the next day or so," an NOAA advisory states.

Jeanne's projected path map provided by the NOAA shows the storm going north and then heading west, putting the center of the storm above Walt Disney World.

The Walt Disney World Resort has already experienced severe weather from hurricanes twice this year, with Hurricane Charley creating much damage at Walt Disney World and Hurricane Frances following, still creating damage, although not as much as Hurricane Charley. Hurricane Jeanne's effect on Walt Disney World and potential damage at the resort remains to be seen as the storm develops and heads toward Florida.
