Cancelled Due to State of Emergency Declared by Florida Gov. Bush for
Hurricane Frances
Walt Disney World cancels the Tom Joyner Family Reunion
due to Hurricane Frances for safety reasons
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Tom Joyner Family Reunion at the Walt Disney World
Resort in Orlando, Florida scheduled for September 3-6 has been cancelled
due to a state of emergency declared by Governor Jeb Bush today over
the arrival of Hurricane Frances on Florida and its expected path into
Orlando and the Walt Disney World Resort..
REACH Media and Walt Disney World Resort executives said they cancelled
the event because of the impending threat of Hurricane Frances. The
Southwest Airlines Sky Show, scheduled for the morning of Friday, September
3 is still slated to take place.
REACH Media and Walt Disney World are offering full refunds to families
that purchased packages and also to single ticket holders to the Saturday
night party.
Joyner, who is host of the #1 urban nationally syndicated radio personality,
said he wants to make sure all the participating families are safe and
asked participants to stay tuned for a more exciting, high quality event
for all members of the family in the future.
The Tom Joyner Family Reunion is a three day celebration of music and
family. In its second year, the event was eagerly anticipating more
than 800 families to Walt Disney World. This year's event was planned
to feature a weekend of unforgettable fun as family members of all ages
were to be entertained exclusively by world-renowned musical artists
and comedians, as well as participate in uplifting activities with Joyner
and many special guests.
The Tom Joyner Family Reunion was scheduled to deliver exciting private
parties and concerts at Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Coronado Springs
Resort, and a Sunday worship service and gospel extravaganza along with
weekend activities to include family fitness workouts, book club discussions
and a slate of family-oriented events to delight guests of every age.

the Tom Joyner Family Reunion Party which was scheduled for Saturday,
Sept. 4, should call 407-W-DISNEY concerning refunds.
Guests who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster, for the Tom Joyner
Family Reunion Party which was scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 4, should
contact their local Ticketmaster outlet concerning refunds.
