The Disneyland Report > Disney News > Three Walt Disney World Parks Reopen Saturday, August 14 After Inclement Weather From Hurricane Charley Three Walt Disney World Parks Reopen Saturday, August 14 After Inclement Weather From Hurricane Charley Disney's Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon remain closed Walt Disney World successfully opened three of its four theme parks this morning following inclement weather from Hurricane Charley. While it is taking some time to get fully operational, guests at Walt Disney World were very understanding of the current situation. Disneys Animal Kingdom did not open in an effort to re-deploy Cast Members to other parks. All Walt Disney World Cast Members, whether or not their work area is open, were requested to report to work at the appropriate time today if it was safe to do so. Walt Disney World Cast Members not scheduled to work today were asked to call in to fill a cross-utilization shift. HOURS OF OPERATION: Magic Kingdom -- 9 a.m.- 11 p.m. Since the storm, the Walt Disney World Resort's focus has been on ensuring that its theme parks are safe and operational for its Guests and Cast Members. Like other members of the Central Florida community, the Walt Disney World Resort property received some damage as a result of Hurricane Charley. While it is too early to assess the total impact of the storm, Walt Disney World would not open unless it was safe for Guests and Cast. Guests who have questions should call (407) WDW-INFO or (407) 939-4636. Sundays operating schedule will be announced later today. |
