Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End premiere at Disneyland

Disney has announced that tickets to the world premiere of "Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End" at Disneyland on May 19 have already sold out.

Up to $3 million, including $1 million upfront from the Walt Disney Company, was raised for the world premiere event at Disneyland. Proceeds from the tickets, which were available to the public, will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Walt Disney Company donates more than $10 million in donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation annually.

Tickets to the Pirates 3 premiere sold out after 14 days. The tickets were priced at $1,500 each and included a walk up the red carpet, a special party dinner, soda and popcorn, a screening of the first showing of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," and access to select Disneyland rides. For more information about the tickets, see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 premiere ticket information.

Tickets were purchased from around the United States and from Canada, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Germany and Belgium. According to the Walt Disney Company, ticket buyers include a Chicago father who is having his children volunteer at a children's hospital to show appreciation for the ticket, a Canadian doctor who is sending her mother as appreciation for paying for going to medical school, and a soldier serving in Iraq who is sending his parents from Oregon to show his love.

Dick Cook, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, said, ”Disney is dedicated to making dreams come true, and now we're joined by “Pirates” fans from all over the world who are making a difference through their generous support and participation in this event. The Studio is extremely excited about “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End,” and we are looking forward to a spectacular premiere to give the movie the send-off it deserves, while also touching the lives of so many children and their families.”

"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" goes into release nationwide May 25.
