Extinct Disneyland attractions to be celebrated in retro slide show with Charles Phoenix

Americana enthusiast Charles Phoenix will be presenting a humorous slide show celebrating long lost Disneyland attractions next Friday, May 19.

Charles Phoenix’s Retro Disneyland Slide Show will feature images from the Disney theme park taken in the 1950s and 60s by visitors to the park. These images come from his collection of slides from that time period he has amassed over time.

His Friday show will also feature Richard M. Sherman, part of the Sherman Brothers who wrote the unforgettable music of Mary Poppins and songs such as “it’s a small world.”

Phoenix, who has celebrated American pop culture of the 1950s and 60s in various shows and publications, promises a comedy performance that will bring back favorite memories of attractions no longer with us such as the Indian Village, the House of the Future, the Flying Saucers, and the Phantom Boats.

Tickets to the Retro Disneyland Slide Show are $29 and are available at the REDCAT 0 Roy and Edna Disney / CalArts Theater at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, where the show will be presented. For more information, visit http://www.charlesphoenix.com/redcat
