Hong Kong Disneyland honors students in Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge
Hong Kong Disneyland recently honored the grand prize winners of the 2005/2006 Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge in a ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel at the new Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
The Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge is a program designed to raise awareness about environmental issues in Hong Kong and organized with the Environment Protection Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Students from the S.K.H. Fung Kei Millennium Primary School and S.K.H. Lui Ming Choi Memorial Primary School were honored for their work in promoting environmental awareness.
According to Hong Kong Disneyland, in the past year, more than 60,000 students from about 100 primary schools made the Environmentality Pledge, and many of them designed class projects to compete in this contest.
Bill Ernest, executive vice president and managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland, said he was delighted to honor the recipients of the award on Earth Day.
The Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Challenge is one of the various community and social outreach programs by the Walt Disney Company.
