The Walt Disney Company last month opened the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, the company's newest resort in Asia since Tokyo Disneyland opened in the 80s. Recent news sources from South Korea have reported that the Walt Disney Company is currently in talks with the South Korean government to open a Disneyland park in the capital city of Seoul. Feasibility studies are being conducted by the company, according to Reuters, but Disney denies any plans to expand its theme parks into South Korea. Another heavily rumored area of theme park expansion is in Shanghai, China. News reports have placed Disney negotiating with city officials to open a Disneyland in Shanghai.
