Continued Below The California Screamin' accident, which occurred three months ago, hurt dozens and sent some to the hospital with injuries when a train entering the boarding platform collided with another train that was already in the station. State investigators determined that the cause of the accident was an air leak that prevented a brake from functioning properly. This led to a train to continue on through the track when it should have been slowed down or stopped, causing it to enter the station when another vehicle was already present. Hundreds of firefighters arrived on scene in the Disney park to help when the accident was reported in the summer. The California Screamin' accident left the popular roller coaster under refurbishment since it reopened this weekend, putting it out of commission for a part of the busy summer season. The roller coaster is likely to remain open through the busy winter holiday season, but rumors hold that the roller coaster will be put under a major refurbishment following the holiday season for both mechanical as well as show/theming purposes. California Screamin' is a popular magnetic-launch roller coaster featuring
one inversion that debuted in 2001 with the opening of Disney's California
Adventure theme park. It had been operating nearly continuously since
