The new Finding Nemo submarine ride would be the only one of its kind at any Disney theme park. Although the details were light, the announcement came at the opening of Turtle Talk with Crush at Disney’s California Adventure on July 15, two days before the actual date of Disneyland’s 50th anniversary. The new Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage would incorporate new special effects, such as video projection, to bring the Finding Nemo characters to life. Last year, special effects were tested in the submarine lagoon in Tomorrowland, and the Disneyland fans had anticipated the announcement of the new Submarine Voyage Finding Nemo overlay during the media events of May 5 to kick off Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration, but the pronouncement was delayed until the actual 50th anniversary weekend events.
