Paul Winchell, who voiced bouncy Tigger, died on Friday in his sleep. He was 82. Winchell not only came up with the voice of Tigger, but he also coined Tigger’s catchphrase “TTFN - ta-ta for now!” He first voiced Tigger in Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. Winchell also voiced the character of Spider-Man and Gargamel in the Smurfs cartoon series. Winchell hosted some children’s shows, as well. He put his ventriloquism skills to use in Circus Time and The Paul Winchell-Jerry Mahoney Show. He was also an inventor, creating what could be considered precursors to the artificial heart and the disposable razor.
