Set to debut May 20 on ABC as part of The Wonderful World of Disney, The Muppets' Wizard of Oz brings back the classic Muppets characters in a retelling of L. Frank Baum's classic tale The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Singer Ashanti plays the role of Dorothy, while classic characters from the Muppets, including Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo, play other characters who help Dorothy make her way to see the Wizard of Oz. However, this retelling of the classic tale will feature new surprises and new plot twists. Other notable stars on The Muppets' Wizard of Oz include Queen Latifah, Quentin Tarantino, David Alan Grier, and Jeffrey Tambor. The Jim Henson Company, along with Fox Television Studios, Touchstone Television, and Muppets Holding Company, the Disney subsidiary responsible for managing the Muppets franchise, produced The Muppets' Wizard of Oz.
