Disneyland's 50th anniversary kickoff features Christina Aguilera, Julie Andrews, LeAnn Rimes

Disneyland kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration in a magical ceremony in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle on May 5, 2005.

In a spectacle featuring songs performed by LeAnn Rimes and Christina Aguilera, as well as speeches from Walt Disney Company executives Michael Eisner and Bob Iger and hosts Julie Andrews and Art Linkletter, the "Happiest Place on Earth" welcomed visitors young and old to return and share Disneyland memories once again.

Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration, called the "Happiest Celebration on Earth," involves all Disney theme parks around the world, and new shows and attractions have opened to mark the occasion.
