To be performed in the first permanent Cirque du Soleil theater outside of North America, a new original show will be exclusively created for the Tokyo Disney Resort venue. Oriental Land Company had been examining the possibility of installing a theater to offer guests a new and appealing way to enjoy the Tokyo Disney Resort. Believing that in the theater business the content of the shows is of the utmost significance, the Oriental Land Company, with the help of the Walt Disney Company, successfully reached an agreement with Cirque du Soleil, which is renowned for its original, high-quality, innovative entertainment. The new Cirque du Soleil theater will have a seating capacity of about 2,000 seats. Ticket prices for the yet-to-be-named show have not been determined. Cirque du Soleil is proceeding with the development of an original show that will premiere at the Tokyo location in 2008. Once the new theater opens, guests visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort will discover even more world-class entertainment than ever before, further enhancing the appeal of the Disney resort and attracting even more guests. The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida already has a Cirque du Soleil show called La Nouba at its Downtown Disney entertainment district.
