Disney teams with Hasbro to offer Build-Your-Own My Little Pony program at Downtown Disney

Fans of Hasbro Inc.'s widely popular My Little Pony brand can experience a unique opportunity to create their own customized pony experience. For the first time, young visitors of the "Once Upon a Toy" store at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando can interact with ponies on display monitors, choose a favorite pony, style her hair, select from assorted clothing and leave with their very own customized pony playset.

"We are always looking for new and innovative ways for our consumers to enjoy and connect with the My Little Pony brand," said Bryony Bouyer, senior vice president of the Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro. "The creativity and imagination that My Little Pony brings to little girls is further expanded in our build-your-own pony experience."

Since the build-your-own My Little Pony display opened last November, thousands of children have enjoyed creating and bringing home their very own one-of-a-kind pony playsets. The experience begins as little girls are greeted by multiple interactive displays that allow them to select and play games. Next children choose a My Little Pony figure, comb and braid her hair at the braiding station and advance to the dressing station. Youngsters can then choose from a variety of clothing and customized Disney accessories for their pony, including a princess tea set, purses and hair accessories.

"The Walt Disney World Resort and My Little Pony both capture a child's imagination and their sense of fantasy," said Kelli Coleman, Vice President of Merchandise Product Development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "Building a customized pony playset embraces the magical experience that our guests anticipate when visiting Disney."

The My Little Pony program follows a successful Mr. Potato Head build-your-own program with Disney that began in August 2002. Since the Mr. Potato Head launch at the "Once Upon a Toy" store in Downtown Disney Marketplace, seven additional build-your-own Mr. Potato Head programs have been added to various Disney Parks and Resorts locations including the Disneyland Resort in California, the World of Disney New York store in New York City and the Disneyland Paris Resort.
