The Disneyland Report > Disney News > 'Disney on Ice' offers evening of Disney princesses, variety of styles Disney News'Disney on Ice' offers evening of Disney princesses, variety of stylesSource: The Star Online Experience true magic when some of the worlds most famous princesses come gliding through. And if youre thinking Anne, Masako, Mary or maybe even Camilla, youre mistaken. They arent the most legendary and they certainly arent the ones that touch the hearts of children all over the world. Just ask any kid who their favourite princess is and you are more likely to hear the names of princesses of more animated kind Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Snow White or even Mulan. Since the first Disney princess graced cinema screens in the animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, way back in 1937, new standards of beauty and character have been established. Where else can you find someone who is beautiful, kind, musical, can cook and clean cheerfully and fight when called upon to do so? Prince Eric and Ariel of The Little Mermaid putting on a dazzling display. For the first time in Disney history, seven of their princesses Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Mulan and Snow White come together when Disney On Ice presents Princess Classics. The production features the most dramatic moments of these stories, which are woven together into a single magical experience. Good triumphs over evil through the eyes of these princesses. The star of this show is emotion, says the shows director Jerry Bilik in a press release. From humour, adventure and trepidation to romance, joy and excitement, we bring the magical feelings of all of these stories to life. The show will feature dramatic lighting and fabulous costumes set to capture the imagination of the audience. We transport people to a place that is more magical than they could ever imagine, says the shows producer Kenneth Field. We capture the essence of Disney through these stories that encompass virtually every generation. Disneys Princess Classics offers parents a chance to connect with their children and to share these uplifting stories of overcoming adversity and the power of friendship and love. A special appearance by Mickey and Minnie. The routine for this production was developed with well renowned choreographers Tom Dickson named choreographer of the year for two years running by the Professional Skaters Association and the United States Professional Figure Skating Association and his wife Catarina Lindgren a former Olympian. They guide a team of 40 skaters through a series of fast-paced, complex manoeuvres. Disney on Ice really is on the cutting edge of skating, says Dickson. The couple also incorporate a variety of techniques into the production. Theres a little a bit of everything, says Lingdren. The Under the Sea (from a The Little Mermaid) Latin number is fiery; Aladdin feels a little more vaudeville, with an exotic flair. Its fun - there are many different styles we get to do.
