The Disneyland Report > Disney News > Controversial DisneyWar book arrives in bookstores early Disney NewsControversial DisneyWar book arrives in bookstores earlyBook takes critical look at Bob Iger of Walt Disney CompanySource: Sun-Sentinel No need to wait until next month to snag a copy of DisneyWar: The Battle for the Magic Kingdom. The potentially explosive book by Pulitzer-prize winning author James B. Stewart was shipped to stores last week instead of on March 7. A source close to the publishing company, Simon & Schuster, said it moved up the release date after an article in the Orlando Sentinel and Los Angeles Times disclosed details of the book from an early copy. Stewart, a former reporter and editor for The Wall Street Journal who won a Pulitzer for his coverage of insider trading and the market crash of 1987, called his effort "an enormously complex and long book" and "a vast canvas." DisneyWar uses a novelistic approach to its subject: Conversations are recounted as if Stewart had witnessed them, and other parts of it are written as Stewart's first-person account, including a day spent in costume as the cartoon character Goofy at Walt Disney World.
