The Disneyland Report > Disney News > Cinderellabration at Magic Kingdom similar, different from Tokyo Disneyland original Disney NewsCinderellabration at Magic Kingdom similar, different from Tokyo Disneyland originalAs the Magic Kingdom celebrates along with Disneyland's 50th birthday, it is expecting the arrival of "Cinderellabration," a new show to take place in front of Cinderella Castle. The new show, which originally debuted at Tokyo Disneyland, will be inspired by the Japanese original but introduce significant differences, according to cast members. Although the basic plot and premise of "Cinderellabration" will be preserved, certain aspects regarding staging, choreography, and story will differ due to space constraints. Magic Kingdom entertainment cast members have noted that the Magic Kingdom's Castle Forecourt Stage is smaller than the one at Tokyo Disneyland, so aspects of the show had to be changed to fit the venue. Currently at the Magic Kingdom, the hub area between Main Street, USA and Cinderella Castle is being refurbished to reduce the height of the planters to allow better views for "Cinderellabration," as well as the "Wishes" fireworks spectacular at night.
"Cinderellabration" depicts the coronation ceremony of Cinderella as princess following her marriage to Prince Charming as the movie ends. Joining Cinderella are her fellow Disney princesses including Snow White, Princess Aurora, Belle, and Princess Jasmine. Other characters from Cinderella will make appearances, also. "Cinderellabration premiered in 2003 for the 20th birthday of Tokyo Disneyland. It will debut at Walt Disney World in the Magic Kingdom on May 5, 2005 as part of Disneyland's 50th birthday, "The Happiest Homecoming on Earth," and will be performed daily during the daytime and nighttime.
