The Disneyland Report > Disney News > Elvis song is Britain's 1000th number one on charts Disney NewsElvis song is Britain's 1000th number one on chartsRock and roll legend Elvis Presley earned another honor on Sunday when a re-release of his song "One Night" from 1959 was the 1000th number one song on the British pop charts. It was also his 20th number one song in the UK, more than any other artist, including The Beatles. Elvis also held the number 10 spot on the UK chart this week with a re-release of his classic "Jailhouse Rock." It was number one last week. To commemorate the life of Elvis, 18 of his hits will be re-released
in Britain, one each week. "One Night" is the second re-release.
Fans are not ruling out the possibility that all 18 re-released songs
will hit number one on the UK pop chart, and various gamblers are betting
on the likelihood. Return to Disney News. |
