The Incredibles ride for Disney's California Adventure?
Rumors have it that there may be a major new E-ticket attraction for Disney's California Adventure. It has been reported on various websites that the Disneyland Resort is looking to create a new ride experience based on Pixar's The Incredibles.
The Incredibles ride would potentially feature new "Robocoaster" technology that was recently introduced in the theme park industry. The Robocoaster moves riders affixed to a robotic arm in back and forth and up and down directions in a hemispheric range of motion.
It could be a hybrid part-motion, part video/film experience previously unseen in most theme parks. The technology is currently used in the Knight's Tournament attraction at Legoland in San Diego, where guests can choose the intensity of the attraction.
The Incredibles attraction proposed for Disney's California Adventure may use this Robocoaster ride system in an enclosed show building that may be located behind the Cannery Row or Bountiful Valley Farm areas of DCA. Especially with the appointment of former Pixar executive John Lasseter to the Imagineering department of the Walt Disney Company, we could be seeing Pixar's The Incredibles as the theme of the next major experience at the Disneyland Resort.
