8/16 - DisneyHand donates $100,000 to charities after Hurricane Charley

DisneyHand announces $100,000 donated to United Way and the American Red Cross to help those troubled by Hurricane Charley

It is particularly impressive that even as the Walt Disney World Resort is still recovering from the damages inflicted by Hurricane Charley this past week, DisneyHand, the worldwide outreach for The Walt Disney Company, announces that it will donate $100,000 to United Way and the American Red Cross to help those in need of assistance after the storm.

Disney should be commended for helping out others, even as it assesses the damage on its own Florida property created by the hurricane. Damage has been reported from all around the Walt Disney World Resort, from downed trees everywhere, big and small, to some roof damage on certain buildings. As Walt Disney World worked to clean up its theme parks so that they could all open as scheduled on Sunday, the company still had in mind the concept of being a good citizen. After all, Walt Disney World is the largest single employer in the state of Florida. Here's another example of Disney helping out those in need.
